2025 SCECA Conference

Hi! I'm Leigh, the Youth Services Consultant for the South Carolina State Library and a part-time adjunct professor with the University of Denver's online MLIS program. My job is connecting our state's public library staff to resources to support them as they provide amazing services and programs for children and teens. I also frequently work with school librarians, early childhood educators, and love to network with other organizations serving youth in SC. I provide consulting and training on topics such as: storytimes, creating early literacy & teen spaces, collection maintenance and development, summer reading, and more. My favorite current picture book is the recent Caldecott Medal winner -- Big by Vashti Harrison. I also love to read thrillers with female protagonists–bonus points if the setting is a creepy, sprawling English estate!
